Northwoods Test Kitchen

Welcome to the Northwoods Test Kitchen, a deli featuring locally sourced food located inside Barrel + Beam.

With the Northwoods Test Kitchen, our love of local cuisine transcends our beers, ciders, meads and wines and is a focal point of nearly every deli item.  The name is homage to our building’s roots as a historic supper club, and a nod to our dedication to always be creative and constantly learning in the kitchen. 

Food is our way of connecting with our community, our farmers, purveyors, producers and artisans who share our values of quality.  Using what they’ve grown and created as inspiration, we create weekly specials that showcase the very best of what Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has to offer. 

Our menu changes constantly, depending on what is in season.  From our spent grain crackers, pickled local eggs, to house-made dips, everything is made from scratch on-site.  And, we’re happy to suggest the perfect Barrel + Beam pairing!

Northwoods Test Kitchen is fast casual and never fussy.  Order at the bar and we’ll bring it to your table.
